Today Lizzie was taken to her debut Classic Car meet at the Cefn Mably Arms, near Castleton. The day started with a quick wash (there is not a lot of car to wash so it was quick), check of oil and water levels and she was ready to go

This was our first real trip out in Lizzie, it turned out to be around 35 miles in total as we made a diversion or two. It was a nice sunny day, perfect weather for what we were going to do. Driving in traffic was easier that we had expected and around town Lizzie kept up with traffic easily, only losing the out when we were in the higher speed areas.

The meet was well attended with cars of many makes and models represented, but only one Anglia.

Lizzie’s neighbour was a 1957 MG Magnette which as it turns out has spent time in North Wales and wears a Wirral Classic Car Club sticker, I do wonder if their paths have crossed in the past? As another coincidence, the car and its owners live very near to us.
All in all it was a good first meet. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly and the food at the venue was good. Many people who stopped for a look mentioned that either they had had an Anglia or someone in their family did. Its a shame that the good weather will be ending soon as we cannot wait for the next one.
