This blog is dedicated to Lizzie, Lizzie the Anglia. Lizzie is a well-restored Ford Anglia 100e, first purchased in early 1956, and since then has only had two previous owners before we purchased her, in 2019.

Lizzie became part of our family in September 2019 at the age of 63 and a bit. She has spent those 63 years living on the Wirral but will now see the next chapter in her life in a small-ish village near Newport, South Wales.

She was bought due to us wanting to get into the classic car scene being unable to afford the sports cars that seem to dominate the many classic car meets we have been to. Initially, we were looking at an Austin A30/A35 but we kept going back to this little 100e Anglia.
As mentioned, Lizzie spent all her life on the Wirral, some 120 miles away from where we live. So any viewing would involve a drive, or as we did, a train journey along the scenic Marches line from Newport to Shrewsbury and on to Wrexham where a change to the local service was made to get us to Heswall.
Having been picked up and made very welcome by Lizzie’s then owner, we had a good look over the old girl, a look through the spares inventory, a test run but more importantly, a pretty comprehensive document history as well. A deal was done there and then, Lizzie was picked up a week later by specialist car transportation, and the spares were picked up the week after that.
This blog will be used to write about Lizzie’s history as well as what she gets up to in the future.
