This month marks 64 years since Lizzie was originally purchased from the dealership, George Herron & Co of Birkenhead.
In the last week, we have taken her out a few times, once as a rescue mission. On Saturday 8th we had a run to beyond Usk and back to Caerleon, this was mainly for the purposes of giving her a run before the recent storms arrived. Tuesday arrived and the weather was dry so the admin of this site and son took Lizzie on our longest single journey in Lizzie so far, a nice circular drive from Caerleon to Usk, Tintern, Usk, Caldicot, Langstone and back to Caerleon, a distance of around 52 miles in total.
On Wednesday we had to bring Lizzie out of the garage on a bit of a rescue mission. A vehicle 52 years her junior decided to throw a hissy-fit and a run to the motor factors was needed. As the only other vehicle available, Lizzie was used.
Since then she has stayed dry in the garage whilst the recent storms have battered everything around us.
