Modifications

Given the age of Lizzie, there was bound to be a number of modifications made during the 63 years she has been around. These modifications have been well documented by the previous owner and comprise of the following:

  • Front Lap & Diagonal inertia reel seat belts
  • Reversing Light
  • Negative earth electrical system
  • Electronic fuel pump
  • Fuel shut off valve
  • Electronic Ignition, with a new distributor and HT leads
  • Heavy duty ignition coil to suit electronic ignition
  • Stainless Steel exhaust
  • Copper brake tubing
  • Spare wheel carrier underneath the boot floor
  • Xenon headlamps & integrated sidelights
  • Converted old front indicators from White to Orange bulbs
  • Two additional rear number plate lights
  • Adjustable rear shock absorbers
  • Change mechanical flasher unit to electronic
  • Fit front seats from an MGF, with adjustment front/rear
  • Convert from vacuum wipers to Electric Wipers
  • Fit a fuse box (Only the flasher unit was fused as standard)
  • Replace non-critical nuts, bolts and split pins with Stainless Steel

As can be seen the list is fairly comprehensive and comprise of many safety related features as well as items that will keep the car in good nick for many years to come. These modifications are reversible should we choose to put the car back to original condition (note: strikes through items have now been reverted).
